Stanbury is a village in the Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury civil parish, and in the metropolitan borough of the City of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. The name Stanbury translates as ''Stone Fort'' from Old English. Geography The village is situated approximately west from Haworth, south-west from Keighley, and east from Colne in Lancashire. Less than half a mile north-east is the hamlet of Lumbfoot. Stanbury is Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Stansbury (postcode 5582) is a small town, located in the southern east coast of Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. At the , Stansbury had a population of 648 people. Stansbury Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tooele County, Utah, United States. The population was 5,145 at the 2010 Census; it was 2,385 at the 2000 census; the 1990 census population was 1,049. Stansbury Park is located in the northern end of Tooele Valley at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains. Traveling by Interstate 80, Stansbury Park is 35 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Stansbury Park was proposed by the original developer (Terracor) as a planned community with a lake for sailing and canoeing, an eighteen-hole golf course, clubhouse, swimming pool, and parks. Although the original developer withdrew from the scene in the 1980s due to bankruptcy, that plan has generally been followed. Stansbury Island
Stansbury Island is the second largest island within the Great Salt Lake in the U.S. state of Utah. Located in Tooele County, it is considered an island even though a dirt causeway connects it to the mainland. Stansbury Island was named after Howard Stansbury, the leader of a government expedition that surveyed the lake in 1849. A biking trail is located on the island. Petroglyphs and two caves large enough to explore are also located on the island. Its peak is Castle Rock, at 6647 feet above sea level. Camping is permitted in most areas. The Stansbury Mountains are a long mountain range located in eastern Tooele County, Utah. It is named for U.S. Army Major Howard Stansbury, a topographical engineer, who led an expedition that surveyed the region. The range trends north–south, reaching from the southwest of the Great Salt Lake at Stansbury Bay into the region of the southeast Great Salt Lake Desert. Its southwest perimeter is adjacent to Dugway (and the Dugway Proving Ground), and along its western base lies Skull Valley, which trends north from Dugway. The south of the range contains the Deseret Peak Wilderness, with much of the range as part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Stansbury Hall (West Virginia University)
Stansbury Hall was a building on the Downtown Campus of West Virginia University. It was named after Harry Stansbury (died 1966), a former WVU Athletic Director. Opened in 1929 as the WVU Field House, just to the southwest of "Old" Mountaineer Field, this was the home of WVU basketball until 1970, when the WVU Coliseum was opened. This was the home floor during the days of Hot Rod Hundley and Jerry West. It hosted the Southern Conference men's basketball tournament in 1953. While the home venue of WVU basketball, the team compiled a record of 370–81 (.820) when playing there. In October 1973, it was renamed to honor Stansbury.
